QuarkNet, University of Notre Dame and Fermilab. An evaluation of a collaborative, long-term, national program that seeks to partner high school science teachers with particle physicists working in experiments at the scientific frontier. A professional development program, QuarkNet immerses teachers in authentic physics research and seeks to engage them in the development of instructional strategies and best practices that facilitate the implementation of these principles in their classrooms.  http://quarknet.org

  • Teaching Evolution through Human Examples (TEtHE), Smithsonian National Museum of National History.  An evaluation of a program to develop and implement supplemental educational materials for AP biology classes in teaching evolution through the use of human examples, such as altitude adaptation, skin color, malaria, and what does it mean to be human.  http://humanorigins.si.edu/
  • The Educational Development Center, Mathematics Coaching Supporting English Language.  An evaluation of a professional development program designed to help elementary school teachers and coaches make challenging mathematics more accessible to students who are English language learners. http://www.edc.org/

  • The Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program at California State University San Bernardino.  An evaluation of a program providing special research training support to 4-year colleges and universities with substantial enrollments of minority students to increase the number and competitiveness of underrepresented minorities engaged in biomedical research. http://www.marc.csusb.edu/
